Explanation of Data:
Air:
Air emissions consist of stack particulate emissions related to the crushing, screening
and transfer of ore. Fugitive emission which account for the bulk of the air emissions
consist primarily of dust generated by the mining equipment outside of the process
placement areas. Dust is controlled by water sprays in the mining process and by water
sprays, wet scrubbers and baghouses in the crushing and milling process.
Land:
The Mission Complex's TRI data consist mainly of copper contained in "tailings"
and copper and zinc in "waste rock" placed on land. Waste rock and tailings
contain about one-tenth of 1% copper. Of the two materials, approximately 75% is waste
rock and the remaining is composed of tailing and minor constituents. |
