CONTOP
The project known as CONTOP, modernized Asarco's 100-year old copper smelter at an investment of more than $100 million. CONTOP remains EPA's national standard for copper smelters today. The project, which reduced air emission by more than 90% made Asarco a national leader in emissions reduction programs.
